The Helmholtz-Office Beijing

Established in 2003, the Office in Beijing is the Helmholtz Association’s official representation in China. It supports the Helmholtz Centers in maintaining and strengthening their connections and collaborations with Chinese partner institutions in their joint efforts to solve the grand societal challenges of our time. To this end, the Office is dedicated to promoting transparent and reciprocal scientific cooperation that benefits all parties involved. It also provides the Helmholtz community with up-to-date information on relevant developments in China and manages mobility programs such as the Helmholtz-OCPC Postdoc Program.

The Helmholtz Association has been cooperating extensively with Chinese national research insitutions and partners from universities. Many of Helmholtz centres have established joint institutes, joint laboratories, especially with the institutes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and leading universities in Beijing and Shanghai.
