Helmholtz School Labs
Examine DNA samples, get to the bottom of climate change or investigate topics in space research: In our school labs, experiments arouse the curiosity of children and young people, who can try their hand at being researchers.
More than 30 of these hands-on formats are available at our Research Centers on a wide range of topics, from astrophysics to marine research.
In this way, we want to foster students who are enthusiastic about the natural sciences at an early age and encourage them to pursue their creative research ideas. We provide children and young people with a basic understanding of how scientists work and how society benefits from this, especially in times of fake news, this is an important element of our offering.
Our Network School-Labs is also aimed at teachers and student teachers: We offer them authentic insights into research. The offering is supplemented by training courses, online materials and the provision of contributions for exhibitions and science festivals. This makes science understandable and tangible for children, teachers and the researchers of tomorrow.
