HECI – Model Compendium, Data and Optimization Benchmarks
The publication HECI – Model Compendium, Data and Optimization Benchmarks provides model equations for common components of campus-scale energy supply systems.
In addition, specific optimization benchmarks as well as realistic example values for all occurring model parameters and inputs, e.g., energy demand and weather data, are given. This publication is meant as a basis for model development with respect to applications related to the energy transition.
The model compendium comprises quasi-stationary and dynamic models of common component of energy systems based on fossil and renewable energy resources, e.g., absorption chillers, combined heat and power units, photovoltaics, and thermal energy storages. Thus, electricity, cooling, and heating grids are considered. Within this project, an optimization benchmark for design optimization and another one for the optimization of the operation of a campus-scale energy system are provided.
