HMC Project Call 2025

Funding of innovative projects for the generation, enrichment and optimization of metadata at Helmholtz

The Helmholtz Association is actively committed to Information & Data Science in all research fields. As part of the Helmholtz Information & Data Science Framework, five strategic platforms are driving the development of innovative solutions.

One of these platforms is the Helmholtz Metadata Collaboration (HMC). Its aim is to make research data within the Helmholtz Association usable in the long term and thus create the basis for forward-looking scientific projects. HMC develops both domain-specific and cross-domain solutions and provides the Helmholtz Centers with services tailored to their needs. The focus is on implementing the FAIR principles at Helmholtz: Research data should be findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable.

With our project funding, we drive innovation, promote interdisciplinary cooperation and strengthen the networking and visibility of HMC activities. The Project Call 2025 supports projects that address practical challenges in the generation and enrichment of metadata. We are looking for innovative solutions that have the potential to be integrated into existing HMC structures after successful implementation.

The objectives of the call are detailed in the call text below.

The deadline for applications is May 30, 2025.

There will be two virtual information events for all interested parties on 20.03.25 and 04.04.25.

Further information can be found on the HMC website: https://helmholtz-metadaten.de/en/projects/project-call-2025

Two virtual information events are available for anyone interested, on 20/03/25 and 04/04/25.
