Nature Index ranks Helmholtz among the top 10 rising AI institutions

The Nature Index has published its ranking of the “Top 10 Rising Institutions in Artificial Intelligence” for the period from 2019 to 2023. Alongside American and Chinese institutions, the Helmholtz Association and the Max Planck Society are the only European organizations to rank among the top ten. The Helmholtz Association is particularly praised for its “Helmholtz AI” platform.

In recent years, the Helmholtz Association has made significant investments in expanding its Information and Data Science ecosystem. It provides scientists from all research fields with comprehensive consulting and training services, easy access to computing capacities, and good availability of high-quality research data, thereby creating ideal working conditions for scientific research.

Currently, Helmholtz researchers across all centers and disciplines are successfully advancing AI models and applying them in their respective fields to address the urgent questions of our time. The Nature Report impressively confirms the added value of their activities to date.
