Helmholtz International Labs
We work particularly intensively with our international partners in our Helmholtz International Labs. These research projects are dedicated to highly innovative and forward-looking research topics.
We implement the projects together with other internationally renowned scientific institutions and support them through our Initiative and Networking Fund.
One example: In the Causal Cell Dynamics-Lab, we want to find out which changes in individual cells of our body are responsible for the development of certain diseases. To this end, Helmholtz Zentrum München – German Research Center for Environmental Health is combining its expertise in the field of single-cell analysis with the expertise of Mila: This Canadian research center is one of the world's most important institutions for AI. The collaboration will enable a completely new understanding of the dynamics of disease development.
A total of nine International Labs are currently active; our cooperation partners come from Israel, the USA, Canada and Australia, among other countries.
